Pho Story
jericlee240
"Pho Story" was the time for me to prove to myself whether I was serious or not about creating my own comics.  I paid extra attention to the script, narration, as well as the comedy and worked day and night, sacrificing sleep in order to get the thumbnails and the panels right and final pencils right.

The story is slightly auto-biographical in that I had quite the obsession with pho noodles.  Of course, not to the extent of what you see in the main character.  But after a time, not long after finishing Parka, I figured I could write and draw a funny little story about it as my next project.

Though what was meant to be a simple 20 page comic, turned into something more during the process of writing it.  I came up with more ideas for the character of Bryan as well as other supporting players which you will see in the sequel "Judo Story" which I hope to complete by next year.

Until then, this is the first book of the three that I have planned.  Enjoy.

Parka: A Red Riding Hood Variation
jericlee240
This is the first comic I've ever worked on.  In one of my illustration classes, we were given an assignment to adapt the Red Riding Hood story into sequential form.  Though I wanted to modernize it a bit as well as include a few twists of my own into the mythology.  I guess some of it came from the fact that I was kind of on a Wolf's Rain kick and also wanted to pay a small homage to Pan's Labyrinth...in that I really loved how that movie took a seemingly innocent fairy tale and gave it a darker, adult tone to it.  I ended up doing something else for illustration class, but I figured this Red Riding Hood story I had in mind would be a good exercise for me.

I'm happy with it for the most part, though some parts of the art kind of make me cringe.  Overall though, seeing it in it's finished form for the first time made me feel confident enough to start on my second comic "Pho Story."

So this is "Parka."  Hope you enjoy it. :)
